Splendid architecture drawings from the 1910s

Back in the 1910s, to showcase new and future buildings, Shanghai newspapers printed architectural drawings. Here are three excellent examples, found in the Shangai Times.

1. New home of Ewo (Jardine, Matheson & Co) on the Bund, announced in December 1919:

2. The Union Insurance building, on the Bund near Canton Road, presented to the public in 1913, to become the first instance of an innovative foundation structure (borrowed from New York skyscrapers), which combined a concrete raft with Oregon pine piles underneath:

3. Robert Dollar building, 3 Canton Road, designed by Muprhy & Dana Architects in 1919:
