Shanghai history enthusiasts in the Wechat group 黄浦历保建筑 reported on the stripping of the sanguine-colored relief murals from the walls along Wuyi Road 武夷路. The murals depicted nineteenth-century foreign society members promenading amid western-style residences. Although not old, the Wuyi Road tableaux were not terribly inaccurate. Shanghailanders promenaded, dined and posed, as demonstrated in this staged portait from the late 19th century.
