Prudence & Abundance (1911)

Some time ago I wrote about the beautiful China Mutual Life Insurance building for the Russian readers, and today I chanced upon a good photo of the two statues that once graced the portico above the entrance of the building, at the corner of Sichuan and Guandgong Roads. They were the work of the Italian sculptor Paolo Triscornia di Ferdinando (1856–1936) and they disappeared around the time of the Cultural Revolution, I presume:
