Town Hall on the Bund (1933)

A quick follow-up to my earlier post about the unrealized additions to the Bund. In 1933, there was a proposal to build the new Town Hall for the International Settlement in the Public Garden, at the foot of the Garden Bridge. The proposal reasoned that this land could have been claimed as early as 1868, when there was an idea to place the protestant cathedral there. What a difference this would have made on the Bund!
