Thomas Cook & Sons travel agency in old Shanghai

This blog rarely concerns itself with current events, but in view of the bancruptcy of the historic travel firm Thomas Cook, let's look at Thomas Cook and Sons premises in old Shanghai. The travel agency had a prime spot in the Central Arcade, right at the corner of Nanking Road and Szechuen Road. The Shanghai branch of Thomas Cook and Sons first opened in January 1911 in the building of the Russo-Asiatic Bank on the Bund.
